A yellow sky

There were some major storms in Chicago today. In the brief period after the storm ended, but before the sun set, the sky was a truly unusual color. None of these pictures really capture the colors as I saw them, but they’re all unaltered photos.

    I noticed that too! I got up this morning, looked at the weather report, and decided I was working from home; hiding in the tornado shelter under the lab and then taking three hours to get home is not my idea of a fun day.

    I got caught in that! I went into the barbershop when the sky looked like that and came out when it was pouring down like somebody up there was sloshing a bucket, the rain was in sheets. Then there was a weeeeee air raid alarm (tornado warning). I got very wet. Did you?

    it’s august third and i just witnessed a yellow sky. i took pictures, because, wtf. yellow sky. i’m new to chicago. is this some well known phenomenon here, because now that i think of it i don’t think i’ve ever seen a yellow sky.
