Definitely just found a gray hair.

Lovely.

Just in time for my 25th birthday, too. (Which is on Sunday, BTW.)

I sympathize. My mom’s side goes gray early too. I’m worrying about going gray and I’m 24 (and a half.) Happy birthday and don’t let it get you down.

You’re welcome. What were you thinking of? I’d like to dye my hair green, personally.

    Happy birthday!

I actually really want salt & pepper hair, so I’m hoping I have my paternal side’s hair (graying from their 20s) and not my mom’s side’s (graying, like, never). I like the look, and also it’s something that would help me look less like a 15-year-old boy in lieu of a beard (which, incidentally, I also want, but that seems less likely). Only time will tell…

Most people start getting a white, or grey hair, here and there from around the age of twenty, it’s quite normal :D

Personally I dye my hair purple, since I’m not so keen on using ammonia based dyes I use temporary ammonia free ones that wash out, you do have to redo them every two or three months but the up side is much less problem with roots showing :) Plus if you don’t like it less long to wait before you don’t have it anymore ;)

Nope, no pre bleaching for me, I have darkish hair, and with some red in it even which makes it fairly colour resistant. In fact this helps keep the colour not to startling especially with a temp dye. It’s more like… a dark purple over brown than purple hair.. as such … that’s really not much clearer lol

    happy birthday :)

don’t be afraid of purple. just get a good hairdresser to do it for you. if you try doing it yourself chances are you’ll bleach it too much and turn it into purple frizz. good luck!

Thanks for the birthday wishes, Rebecca!

And I think I need to talk to my hairdresser and/or (depending on price) the friend of mine who is in hairdresser school. The siren call of purple is becoming difficult to resist…

    Wow.

I forget people worry about gray/white hair. I got my first when I was around 13. By sixteen I stopped worrying. At 27, Im kind of disappointed that more hasn’t changed, as the brown is stopping me being any colour bleach free.

Hello, Corana! I haven’t noticed any grays since then, but I’m sorry to hear you’re stuck midway. Being able to dye my hair bleach-free would be pretty fun.
